At least, I'd like to think so. Because I love this cowl and the Malabrigo Chunky yarn that I used for knitting it. The Ariosa Broken Rib Cowl by Emmy Coplea is one of the simplest and most exquisite patterns I've ever had the pleasure of knitting, and I'm quite in love with it. The pattern is a broken rib worked in the round, and the finished product looks so stunning you wouldn't believe it was hand knit. This cowl is now available in my Etsy shop here . As is usual with me, I'm including a million pictures (ok, not really) so you can also see how beautiful this cowl is. I'll definitely be making more of them. We have only 10 days more till the end of August, and here in the Bay Area, nights have gotten considerably cooler. You know what that means? It's knitting season!! Yes!!!! I can now bust out my bulky and super bulky yarns and knit soft, cushy, super-squeezable, ultra-warm items for Fall and Winter. This year I'm hoping to be ahead of the holiday rush by starting on items for my Etsy Shop. I worked on an oldie but goodie, the Scrunchable Scarf pattern by Susan McConne, while we were on vacation in Hawaii. I knit the scarf in Loops & Threads Cozy Wool (one of my favorite bulky yarns) and added a shell crochet border on one edge to give it a little touch of whimsy. I have a problem, and I hope you all can help me out. I made some headbands and matching mitts for my first Craft Fair way back in April. However due to a number of factors, we had very low patronage at the fair and I sold only three items. Now I can't sell these headbands and mitts on Etsy because the designer also makes them for sale on there. I however cannot wear all 6 headbands and 3 mitts, so I thought I would have a short sale here on my blog and on my Facebook page. The price for each headband is $16, and for a pair of mitts is $20. All items are made from top quality yarn. The green, fuchsia, rust red and goldenrod items were knit in Classic Elite Waterlily yarn, the Flame Red headband in Manos del Uruguay Wool Clasica, and the Cadmium Headband and Mitts in Malabrigo Merino Worsted. I hope you all had a restful long weekend. I was so excited last week about my patterns coming out in the Knitscene Accessories 2012 that I forgot to mention that some of the items I made for the craft fair are now available in my Etsy shop. Drum roll please! The first up is this Skinny Drop Stitch scarf that I knit in Malabrigo Silky Merino, Viena colorway. I love this pattern so much that I've knit 3 more since this one. I haven't had the chance to block and photograph the other 3, but when I do, I'll make sure to share them with you. It's now up in my Etsy shop here .  The Viena colorway I used in this scarf is one of my absolute favorites, as the brown, yellow and orange colors just make a very bold statement. Last week some lovely people found my shop and ordered a few custom items from me. It's so exciting when I get purchases and orders from people who aren't friends or acquaintances. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE knitting for friends and family. However when someone I don't know orders something from me, there's a true sense of accomplishment and excitement that I feel. A few weeks ago I posted the pattern for the Procragratification Scarf, and listed that scarf on my Etsy Shop. A nice lady saw the scarf and asked for it in the Eggplant Colorway. I just finished it two days ago, blocked it yesterday, and got my sister to model it for some fun pictures. I am so grateful to all of you who have been reading my blog, leaving comments and being supportive of my small knitting business. Now that the year is winding down, I'm trying to hit some knitting targets and meet some "secret project" deadlines. I finished a few items some weeks ago but didn't get the chance to photograph them and list them till this past weekend. The first is a Grey Unisex Scarf (now available in my Etsy shop ) with a big fat cable running along the side. I've received a lot of complaints from friends that I seem to only knit for women, so this scarf is my first in the "line" I'm working on for my male customers. The second item is the Fig Hurrah , a one color version of the Pompom Scarves (sans the pompoms) that I've been knitting. The color is Fig, and it's as soft and cushy as its cousins, but without the pompoms for those who want something simple and warm. It is also now available in my Etsy Shop .  ...

So after succumbing to the pompom/Last Hurrah scarf bug as I mentioned in my previous post , I decided to make a few more of the Last Hurrah scarves with pompoms attached. My next two finished scarves were the: Purple and Green Hurrah , knit with Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick, in the Fig and Cilantro colorways. I'm really liking this scarf because the colors are very vivid and attention-grabbing. It looks like the perfect scarf for anyone looking to add a striking, colorful accessory to their winter wardrobe. The next one is the one I call the Neopolitan Ice Cream Scarf. I bought a hank of Cascade Eco wool for a design I was working on. When I received the yarn, I realized it was too thin for the pattern I had in mind, so I relegated it to the stash to wait for a more suitable project. Today's is a long post, so please bear with me. The year is hurtling towards it's end, and I'm knitting as fast as I can to make it to the end of the year with a lot of finished items. Even more importantly, I'm hoping to have my Etsy shop stocked with as many items as possible so people can get lovely handmade gifts for their friends and family during this holiday season. In the past few weeks, I've been bitten by the pompom bug. I'm not sure I've ever made pompoms in my knitting life before now. However since I started, I can't seem to stop.
